what's in a name?

people have nicknames and shit. that's kinda cool. but what does it all mean? i'm trying to root some of these out and/or interpret people's nicknames.

dj=his first 2 initials. pretty simple.

smalz=his last name is mallgren. we began calling him smallgren back in the day. as we got older, it needed to be 1 syllable. therefore, it becaume smalz. likewise, i (and only me) call dj "d."

drollery=i just nicknamed elise this about 30 minutes ago. i don't think she knows yet. it means "a humorous, whimsical, or odd quality." it fits her and sounds cool.

dark soul child=i don't know this one. i think katy gave it to herself in an attempt to be cool. that's why i hate her :)

clark=it's his last name. if i had a name like "jason" i wouldn't go by it either.

kaybee=she used to be renna because renner is her last name, but she's getting married. therefore, renner will no longer be her last name and we have a katy b. katie b sounds just like katy b, so i made her into kaybee.

the hombre=i started calling chad this and it just stuck. only the posp and i actually call him it though.

the posp=frau started it actually. she started calling him "herr posp" rather than "herr pospisil" because everyone has trouble saying his last name. soon after, someone (either frau or me, neither mark nor i remember) changed the "herr" to a "the" and it stuck.

the asian= jonah's had a veritable repetoire of nicknames. head, jones, joner, boner, bone, the asian, and many others. i just like "the asian." he still goes by most of these nicknames.

yuric=brian mossman started calling me this in 5th grade. i hated it for about 1 year and then it grew on me. he and bubba are still the only people that call me it.
